Last Thursday night I hosted a dinner, along with the CFDA and W Hotels, for designer, Katie Ermilio. (My first night out since Baby Birdie was born!)

I first discovered Katie’s work several years ago when I was collecting dress ideas for my secret wedding board (titled “One Day,” what was/is your secret wedding board called? Isn’t that what Pinterest is really for…?). For the past several seasons of NYFW I have attended her presentations and earlier this year I got to meet Katie at her studio in New York, where we began to talk about her interest in Dallas and a possible fall trip.

There are always a few dresses in Katie’s collections that I crave- the type of iconic piece that you can’t get out of your head. Her pieces are reminiscent of vintage Barbie, a look that I love. On Thursday night, I got to wear my favorite Katie dress: this silk striped long-sleeved, high-neck piece.

My mom and me on our way to the dinner together, both wearing Katie Ermilio.

She actually created a coordinating dress for Birdie; Katie’s first Baby piece, ever! (more of that coming soon to The Coveteur).

Fun fact: I recently found out that Katie is the granddaughter of Grace Kelly’s personal clothier. Fair to say that wardrobing runs in her blood.
