FOR THE RECORD

Yesterday I got to spend some time with the Glamourai and her well-styled other at the new W hotel in Austin. He told me that the two bonded while house-sitting for an Austin-based musician and ended up getting rained in and listening to old vinyl. Now, “[they] are soul-mates.”

This picture was taken in front of my brother’s vinyl collection; record sleeves line the walls of his urban flat inside of the old Coca-Cola building.

(This entire story gives me flashbacks to the movie Factory Girl– picturing Kelly’s Edie Sedgwick eyes and records spinning in Andy Warhol’s studio; I think I’m seeing in sepia right now.)

In continuance of my cobalt collection, I snagged this Stella McCartney skort off of the SALE rack at Neiman Marcus. The waistline is flattering so I tucked my top into the band- Rebecca Taylor told me that we need to stop hiding our bodies. On that note, I wore a light blue bra underneath my sheer top; if you cant hide it, show it and make it match. Nude bras are a don’t.

If you don’t have as much luck on the SALE rack as I do, try these DVF shorts. The waistline is flattering and the extended pockets give this basic some rich detail.

My Bass Wayfarer loafers have become a staple. I carry them in my purse for when the heels start to get to me.
