BASIC TRAINING

Today I am offering some basic advise for your wardrobe. The lesson: using quality basics to achieve the season’s top trends. Being trendy without being trendy.

First, lets build out from a well made basic. You always need to have a beautiful, architectural yet simple cream dress and top in your wardrobe. It will work as both a layer and a canvas. I suggest the Theory Giorgina dress not only because it is on sale but also because it is season-less and flattering.

A girl should always have a pair of black flat sandals- basic enough to go with everything yet interesting enough to hold their own. I found these black gladiator style sandals at Zara but it looks like Steve Madden must buy from the same factory because the same pair is on SALE at stevemadden.com for $47!

Now that we have the foundation (and for very little $$!), lets add the final touches that make this look right on for 2010.

My leopard Lanvin bowler is possibly the best bag I ever bought. The print is large (tiny prints look cheap, even when Gucci does it) and the ponyhair says investment piece.

The best leopard bag of the season: this Christian Louboutin bag with chain handles. Yes, it is pricey- BUT, it is worth it.
