ASK AMBER: ANSWERS

Q: Love your blog and wish I had your sense of style!  Can you share some recommendations re:  an outdoor (yes, in Dallas-hot & humid!) graduation ceremony?  Maybe linen?

-M DW

A: So sorry to hear you may be sweating through the ceremony- but at least you will be well-heeled!

Try this scoop-neck lace dress by LaROK. We are generally leery of this line because of its cheap/ trendy aesthetic, but all was forgotten when we saw the sheer mesh yoke and voile banding at the waist, pintucked insets and scalloped edge at the flounce hem.

With so many quality details, we were shocked to see that this dress was only $278!

The dress is lined in cotton, so there should not be any visible sweat marks when you stand up (Gross, we know- but Dallas girls can attest- this IS a problem.)

Although this piece has so many details, it is the perfect canvas for a statement necklace. Try the Kristin, featured in D Magazine, and a pair of neutral, peep toe heels (a wardrobe builder/ must have).

VENZedits Tip: After all of the parties are over, do NOT hang this dress in the formal closet. Throw on a pair of ballet flats, cat-eye glasses, and a Gap grey boyfriend sweater (with the sleeves messily rolled up) and wear this little number to brunch and shopping all summer long.
