A NOTE FROM PARIS

For me, python will never go unnoticed. Gold python: even better.

Every girl needs a skin in her wardrobe to add a bit of texture to monochromatic formalwear.

Here is the idea: you will never have what you need if you don’t buy it when you see it. (You can quote that.) This goes for cocktail dresses, tops and nail polish. Believe me, you will use this bag.

Last week I had the opportunity to hang out with Ken Downing, Fashion Director of Neiman Marcus, and he told me that all of the girls at Paris fashion week were folding their bags in half and carrying them with a grip towards one end. Yes, day and night.

A bit of analysis for those who care:

The crop of new young designers that sell alongside Prada and Lanvin, fashion houses that are 98 and 102-years-old respectively, are expanding quickly to compete with the comprehensive product offerings of their peers.

However, accessory lines are not always a booming success for clothing designers, even when their biggest fan is Anna Wintour. (See what Proenza Schouler has to say about their accessories line on VE TV)

Thakoon has experienced rapid growth: a line for GAP, licensing deal with Target, sunglasses, jewelry and a diffusion line. Im not really sure what happened to the sunglasses line, but that is the reality of the luxury market.

This bag will score major points for him in the accessories department. Cross your fingers for more #winning.
