Last week I went out to the Arizona Memorial in Pearl Harbor; my great uncle Eugene Brickley is entombed there and the experience made me grateful to all of those who serve.

SOUVENEERS
I spent some time in Santa Monica, CA earlier this week and I found these pieces at the Zara on the Promenade.
Yes, it is true that matching is old lady; however, I have a slight propensity to dress a bit mature for my age and this set looks insane with my khaki trench.

MEETING WITH MAGS
This week I caught up with Mags between her shoots- girl is booked solid! With a tight schedule like hers I would generally expect a high-stress, frantic individual but her demeanor is as calm and confident as her personal style.
Her Magda Berliner lace top (you may recognize the designer from the Ashley Olsen dress), is on trend this season. Eyelet and lace are all over every look book that crosses my desk and when done correctly, the look is fresh and feminine. Think beachy glow.
DIY: LADY HARNESS
Last week one of my friends cleaned out her closet and passed this Rag & Bone tunic (with tags still attached!) on to me and this look is my new favorite. The details are subtle but rich. (Thanks, Kristin!) Since that one is long gone, here is one that is super similar and on SALE!
I have decided to embrace the Hermes leather lady harness, as seen in this post, and I did it on the cheap. My black harness is actually two thin belts that I strapped across my upper body like an “X.”
CURRENTLY OBSESSING
There are moments when I am shopping online that I see a piece and just know. This was one of those moments.
MAKING A SPECTACLE
Best known for the spectator glasses are Ralph Lauren, Proenza Shouler (new addition) and the Olsen twins.
The trick to this can be so wrong trend? Get them big. Small frames make your nose look large and your face look fat. Think Jackey O meets Ozzy Osbourne- middle ground.
