REAL OR STEAL?
Chloe wedges get more celeb-style air time than any other brand. Kate Bosworth, Chloe Sevigny (no, she is not the designer for Chloe or affiliated for that matter) and Cameron Diaz have all been known to step out in a pair.
That said, it is no wonder that another designer was inspired to make a $110 pair.
So, which one of these wedges is real? I’ll never tell.
ASK AMBER ANSWERS: HAUTE MOM
Hi Amber,
I am having a baby girl this summer and I still have several baby showers to go- what do I wear!?
Thanks for your help,
Hope K., Dallas, TX
ARM CANDY
Remember my post from last week about what your stack is saying?
This Givenchy set is saying fierce.
INSPIRED: A LOOK YOU CAN ACHIEVE
I am excited to share this idea with you because I found perfect pieces to get the look that are SO affordable; for example, a $12 surplus jacket and a $50 pair of booties.
The frugalista in me is shining bright this morning.
This look is made up of pieces that we should all have in our wardrobes. Translation: if you do not have a surplus jacket, a striped dress or a pair of black booties you need to get them now.
Check out the VENZedits approved (and ridiculously inexpensive) options:
IN ACTION
I have had a couple of people ask me what I wear when I am working so I had my photog get an action shot this afternoon.
I am generally quite casual, as you can see. My jean shorts are begging for a day off (and so is my braid).
REDEMPTION: ALEXANDER WANG
In this post I would like to commend Mr. Wang on securing several top spots on my lust list.
I have not had kind words for the past few collections that Alexander Wang has presented (“disappointed” and “ugly” come to mind) but this past weekend I ran into a fellow blogger who was wearing this peach Wang sweater and then shopped the collection online and I would like to say, “Wang, you have redeemed yourself.”
CHEAP THRILL
When I finally met Carolina, my favorite Swedish blogger, she was wearing this teal nail polish. I am usually a stickler for pinky-nude feminine nail polish on the hands and feet, but her bright polish put me in a good mood.
Last week, while cheap thrill hunting at Forever 21, I came across a bin of bright polish- at $2.80 each, I bought four.
My Carolina-inspired look, teal nail polish, made its debut at the Stanley Korshak 25th Anniversary party on Thursday night (it actually looked quite chic with my DG leopard dress).
WINNING
Last month during NYFW, Shopbop held a Best Dressed Blogger competition and I was one of the winners! My prize was a $500 credit at Shopbop! (I’ll let you know what I end up purchasing; new white J Brand jeans will definitely be in the mix.)

OLSEN TRACK DOWN
I am often inspired by the twins Olsen and I think this is a teachable moment.
What to learn:
1. You can wear a fur jacket as a top.
2. Grey and emerald green look RICH!
3. You can finally afford MK’s Proenza Schouler booties because Steve was inspired and they are only $129. (This purchase is a no-brainer.)
4. When you are working with solids, always throw in one print.
5. Mixing textures is a must. MK’s look has depth with fur, croc and sheer.
ILL HAVE THE SCALLOPS
Yesterday I had an afternoon meeting with a reporter and she recalled meeting me a year ago when I was wearing my “Chloe” shorts. Fooled her! They were an inexpensive Chloe knock-off from Urban Outfitters.
Since they were still on her mind, I thought they might be on yours.
Dig in- they are back online!
