TREND REPORT: FLARE

What do the following list of celebrities have in common: Kate Moss, Alessandra Ambrosio and Elle Mcpherson.

They are all supermodels, exude sexiness and rock flare denim.

Remember earlier this month when I told you that Shopbop gave me 10 unique discount codes for 20% off? I used mine to buy new J Brand Lovestory jeans. (There are a few left and they expire today so click here to see what to do to get one!)

BEWARE OF PICKPOCKETS

I am slightly late attending to my blog today, but I had the opportunity to speak to a middle school about my job and attending college so this post was worth the delay.

Earlier this month I met Yvan Rodic of facehunter and in my quest for new accessory styling trends, I found this image of his.

Don’t be surprised if you see me rocking my Chanel cross-body, on top of my vest but underneath my coat.

Ill let you know if it is uncomfortable.

LUCKY…I PAID FULL PRICE.

My favorite Parisian low-maintence line, IRO, just hit theOutnet this morning and an easy cool look I wear all of the time made the SALE.

In fact, this entire look is one SALE!

I bought this top from Cabana when it first came in and the owner, Merry, suggested I put a grey tank underneath for length and layer with a charcoal-grey cardi . To keep the palate neutral, I always wear these pleated shorts to let my moto boots pop- just for the shock factor (although it is pretty adorable).

SAVING IS FOR MEN

For this look, Krystal pulled out the Tory Burch fur cape she got for Christmas. She told me she has not yet worn it for fear of messing it up.

VENZedits Tip: Even if you are planning on being buried in it, WEAR IT! There is never a reason to save a garment for future use. That day will never come and then it will be out of style and you will get nothing for it at the resale. Moral of the story: use your clothes!

SECOND LOVE

Another reason I want to attend Central Saint Martins in London: Phoebe Philo, Creative Director, board member, and now designer for Celine.

Celine has been around since 1945, but has been somewhat second rate until Philo stepped in. Although the brand is carried at select Barneys locations, it is still not widely available and therefore not overexposed.

YOUR SCARF, YOUR STYLE

I mentioned this nine months ago, but I think scarves and bandanas are way underused. This weekend I wore my vintage mustard-yellow YSL scarf from archive as a bandana and the look felt fresh, uncontrived and unique.

(The rest of the outfit: my boyfriends white v-neck tee, oversized cut-off jorts, PS1 and havainas. Image to come.)

Here at VENZedits I have shown you a few ways to wear a scarf but the new Hermes street-style blog has all of the answers.

JUST SO YOU KNOW…

…things like this do exist.

Lanvin + H&M has nothing on this collaboration. Step back Alber, Goyard has teamed up with Assouline to create the ultimate trunk.

Iconic French design house, Goyard, custom-made this leather trunk for publishing luminary Assouline, outfitted in classic white Goyard-print leather and filled with 100 of Assouline’s signature Memoire photo-biographies on art, fashion, design and architecture.

Calling Fairy God-mother…

FRUGAL FRIDAY: SHOES!

I am a Steve Madden fan for many reasons: 1. I can not always afford designer shoes, but Steve tends to be inspired by current season designer shoes so I can get the look 2. His end-of-season sales are cheaper than Good Will!

Here are some of the shoes I have been wearing this season- now all on SALE for less than $50!

ARCHIVED

One of my favorite parts of Fashion Week was seeing all of the street style photographers outside of the shows snapping pictures. One such blogger, Pamela, the founder of Market Publique, caught me in this unsigned vintage dress from archive vintage in Dallas.

Aside: One day I want to be able to speak about vintage clothing the way Kerry from archive does; she speaks another language.

Here is what I was wearing:
