NOT JUST FOR HALLOWEEN

Over the knee stockings are no longer just for slutty (sorry grandma, I said it) Halloween parties.

With sky-high boots becoming more of a commodity than a novelty, you too will need a pair.

These are my favorite, not only because they are the cheapest, but also because they are fleece lined so you can actually stay warm this winter.

When my toes are warm, so am I.

ROCK STARS

Come see all new, never before seen pieces from the Amber Venz collection at The Shak at Stanley Korshak this Friday night from 5-7.

After all, you will probably need some cocktails before encountering the pre-game masses that will be invading Dallas. Go horns?

GEOMETRY LESSON

We all know how finding a decent top these days is like a needle in a haystack.

They all look the same- like Rory Beca threw up on the mall. Silky, solid, “sexy” and so done.

I was thrilled to find this BCBG cowl neck wrap tunic- and for just $238! The shape is completely new and the colors are a hit for fall.

Best part: this top transitions like a dream. Wear casually with black shorts (just $68!) and Wang oxfords and then later with leather pants and booties.

Keep your accessories clean- a silver MK watch and Kate necklace will do.

TREND: GREEN

Here is one of the looks I styled for the Neiman Marcus runway show during FNO this year.

This one is surprisingly easy to achieve.

The model is wearing the Clarissa dress by Alice + Olivia, my vintage zodiac belt (great find from Dolly Python in Dallas and patent Gucci sandals

BLACK OUT

When this GOTM told me where she found her vintage inspired accordion Chloe dress (NM last call) I almost died!

It takes time to find fab deals like this one, but the investment is paying off for this SMU senior.

But- as we all know, even on SALE, designer dresses can be pricey. To get her look, I suggest renting this version by Halston Heritage (you may recognize from Sex in the City) for just $50 at renttherunway.com!

CHAIN GANG

How SICK are these shoe anklets!?

At first glance, I thought they were part of the boot but they are actually detachable so you can add them to any heel in your closet.

What an inexpensive way to update your booties…

ASK AMBER ANSWERS: cocktail dresses

Hey Amber!!

Formal session is starting up at SMU I need your help. Where can I find fun, different formal dresses or just cocktail dresses for this season? I am always looking for something someone hasn’t seen or doesn’t have and you are definitely the one who always knows where to go and what to look for.

xo,

Kate W., California

LUCKY (little) GIRL…

This article is a little more specific than usual becuase this boot is only available in a size 7 (thats what happens on theOutnet).

If you are one of the lucky ones with tiny feet- listen up!

These Roberto Cavalli THIGH HIGH boots are on SALE for 50% off!

The 5 inch silver heel is right in line with fall Vuitton and Lanvin and the 1 inch platform and rounded toe provide comfort (not that comfort is a concern when you are rocking thigh-highs…)

Wear these like pants underneath capes and dresses.

ITS RAINING…ITS POURING

…and you are still looking chic in these Givenchy riding rainboots.

I have always loved the look of my black Hunter wellies (totally copied Kate Moss) but the wide leg slaps against my legs when I walk, which I hate!

This pair by Givenchy is super chic with a metal stirrup at the ankle and discrete logo on the side. The best part: they hug your calves like real riding boots- super slimming.

ONE OF THREE

If I could pick only three outfits to wear all fall, this would 100% be one of them.

How beautiful is the Yossi Cape? For a beautifully made alpaca knit, $370 is a steal (AllSaints never fails me for affordable, unique knitwear).

White may not be for winter but grey/white sure is! Take advantage of these totally acceptable light drainpipes to balance the voluminous cape.
