INTRODUCING: PLASTIC ISLAND

In building a wardrobe, the number one most important piece is a great white blouse. Closely followed by a pair of black ankle skinny jeans- but I digress.

I am always on the hunt for the perfect blouse and today I found a new winner: the Plastic Island Geraldine Blouse.

ON THE WAY UP

Meet Sarah, the new Girl of the Moment.

If you work or play in the fashion industry, you will most likely recognize her. She just turned 21, but her resume is more impressive than most 35-year-olds.

Most recently, Sarah assisted the Fashion Editor of T, the fashion magazine that comes inside the New York Times. Yes, she has already worked for the New York Times.

WRAP STRAP BOOTIE

As rugged as they come, these distressed leather booties closely resemble the $1000 Golden Goose version you will find at Barneys.

The buckled strap at the ankle, wraparound buckled strap at the split shaft and stud details on the sole let everyone know that these are not a cheap knock off.

Alice + Olivia has been on a roll lately! Their cocktail and party dresses are the best on the market- by far. They picked up where Jill Stuart left off.

I first saw this little number on AnnaLynne McCord and I couldn’t get over the tiered silk skirt and beaded boustier.

STRANGE to some INSANE to others

For my personal wardrobe, I tend to gravitate towards the extreme. Some people might say it is a bit strange, but I prefer Fashion Week worthy.

This weekend I came across this Foley + Corinna chiffon petal jacket and have already started planning a trip to NYC this fall to wear it.

MY NEW SNEAKS

Lanvin has always incorporated sneakers into their shoe collections and honestly, I have never understood it.

BUT, this morning I came across a pair of INSANE sneakers that are to die for. I have never seen a shoe like this.

These leather sneakers feature studded, buckled straps and a wedge heel- a comfy alternative to flat moto boots that give your legs a little extra length.

They are certainly edgey (my aunts are going to hate them) but they are playful and a unique alternative to the tried and true.

You have seen this jacket on Kim K., Beyonce, Naomi Campbell (she may hit you with her blackberry, but she has good taste), The City‘s Olivia Palermo and the Balmain runway. Even Carmen Electra got the hint.

The military look is in for fall and you shouldn’t miss. This one is easy.

DEAL FINDER: leather shorts

There is a pair of 3.1 Phillip Lim leather shorts that I wear religiously until it is time for the leather leggings to come out BUT I bought mine a few years ago and have had a hard time finding you a quality pair at a do-able price.

Call off the dogs.
